Nostalgic and vintage aesthetics have also become a trend in cosmetic packaging. Many brands are now strategically adopting designs reminiscent of bygone eras, incorporating retro color schemes, classic typography, and iconic motifs. The aim is to trigger an emotional connection between the product and the consumer through nostalgic appeal. 

Whether inspired by the elegance of Art Deco or the vibrant aesthetics of the ’60s and ’70s, this trend offers a fusion of the old and the new, providing consumers with a touch of timeless elegance in their beauty choices. Brands like Soap & Glory combine a retro aesthetic with a modern twist in their packaging, creating an attractive and nostalgic appearance. 

Cosmetic Packaging Trends That Are No Longer Trendy

While we have some hot packaging trends, we also have those that are no longer in vogue. Some of them are: 

  • Excessive Plastic Packaging: While it was once convenient, this trend now faces environmental backlash.
  • Generic Minimalism: Beyond aesthetics, minimalism is a lifestyle so overly simple designs without inspiration may fail to stand out.
