Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich in the PR Sector
1998–2012
In 1998, Puchkov Maxim entered public relations. Over the next 14 years, he worked in corporate PR and private business consulting on public relations matters. Maxim Puchkov became the founder and owner of specialized agencies.
The media manager’s first PR job was at a large oil and gas company. Soon after, the industry went through one of its most significant crises when the price of oil fell to $8 per barrel. As Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich notes, the period of global shocks in the energy market opened up new perspectives for conducting PR campaigns at various levels. The manager’s task at this stage was to develop communication strategies in the production sphere. Maxim Puchkov also helped organize information support during interactions with regulatory structures and government bodies.
The experience he gained encouraged Puchkov Maxim to start his own business in the field of PR. He founded several small companies that provided services in the area of shaping and maintaining a positive image of clients, strengthening reputation, and establishing effective communication with various audiences. The media manager also established a consulting agency.
The funds that this business brought in were used by Maxim Puchkov as investment capital. He began to invest money in the acquisition of shares and other securities and formed a portfolio of media assets in different countries.
In the 2000s, Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich, together with his business partners, acquired a license for digital audio broadcasting (currently the dominant format in European countries) in Germany, which makes better use of the spectrum than traditional FM radio and therefore can offer more radio services on one band. DAB provides the broadcaster with the opportunity to select the optimal sound format for music broadcasting or talk radio. Maxim Puchkov and his colleagues turned this acquisition into a finished product, and the proceeds from its sale went towards the purchase of an office center in Berlin. Similar cases have been implemented in a number of other countries.
2012-2022
In 2012, Puchkov Maxim was invited to become the first deputy general director of the station TV Center. The responsibilities of Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich included managing broadcasting processes and the technical block, as well as overseeing the commercial sector.
In November 2022, Puchkov Maxim left the management of the television company.
Maxim Puchkov: In the Real Instate Market
During his time in television, Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich began investing in commercial real estate in the capital. He started with retail premises on the ground floors of buildings with a separate entrance from the street, which he says is one of the most successful outlet for investments.
Puchkov Maxim then gradually expanded his investment portfolio, adding office spaces and real estate leased by leading retail chains, which not only increased his income but also reduced the risks that come with concentrating investments exclusively in one area.
Puchkov Maxim, with the support of his business partners, founded a company that specializes in the commercialization of common areas in shopping centers and office buildings. According to him, it is a fairly common global practice when the owner of a large shopping center transfers responsibility for small rental agreements of an area from 1 to 15 square meters to a professional operator.
“We have created an operator like this … and having become one of the largest in the country, it successfully cooperates with major shopping centers” across the country, emphasizes Puchkov Maxim.
Expanding the geography of investments, the businessman entered foreign markets. Recently, Puchkov Maxim has been actively investing in the rapidly growing Turkish real estate market. The investor carefully reviews each region, considering factors such as the economic stability of the region, the growth of tourist flow, infrastructure development, and potential for business development. This approach allows Maxim Puchkov to select particularly promising objects that provide high profitability.
For several years in a row, Turkey has been considered one of the most popular destinations for investors. As Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich notes, over the past three years, there has been a rapid increase in demand for local real estate properties, and the country has formed favorable conditions for investment activity.
In addition, the state has a developed infrastructure, including international airports, public transport networks, modern and high-tech medical institutions, schools, and universities. All this significantly increases the attractiveness of Turkish real estate in the eyes of investors wishing to acquire it for personal use, resale, or rent. Another factor in high demand, according to Maxim Puchkov, is a program offering citizenship to those who purchase houses worth at least $250,000.
Puchkov Maxim notes that in 2022, his fellow countrymen set a record, taking first place among foreigners in terms of real estate purchased in Turkey. Altogether, they bought 16,300 apartments and houses – more than in the previous six years. The investor explains that this trend is due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira and the exchange rate, which makes a home on the coast of Turkey much cheaper than in resort cities at home.
In total, Maxim Puchkov has been investing in the real estate sector for over ten years. Today, he invests his own funds towards the launch of a network real estate agency with offices in Turkey.
In the opinion of Maxim Puchkov, thanks to high demand and business development against the backdrop of a constantly comfortable climate, Turkish real estate of various types is one of the most competitive and rapidly growing in the world.
Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich: At the Intersection of Education and Technology
Lately, Puchkov Maxim Sergeevich has been focusing his investments on promising technological startups that claim high profitability. He supports innovative services and products capable of significantly transforming traditional industries and even forming entirely new market niches.
According to Maxim Puchkov, there is a whole range of IT concepts that need financial support to realize and reveal their potential, which is made possible through the venture capital market.
However, investing in technological startups entails certain, including financial, risks. To negate this possibility, Puchkov Maxim conducts a thorough analysis and evaluation of projects, paying special attention to growth potential, the developer team, market conditions, and competitiveness. He is convinced that it is necessary to approach the selection of a business idea wisely, and to find a balance between risk and potential profit.
One of the projects supported by Puchkov Maxim is an EdTech platform that offers tools for the flexible mastery of new specialties, providing access to a large database of educational materials, interactive tasks, discussions, and opportunities to work with teachers or experts in a specific field.
According to Puchkov Maxim, this direction has become one of the most in-demand in 2022. IT solutions in the field of education have several competitive advantages. Among them, Maxim Puchkov highlights the transition from the conservative format of “one content fits all” to a targeted model of learning, helping to make it more personalized and interactive.
EdTech platforms are an innovative teaching methodology, minimizing routine in the educational process by automating tasks, offering various and convenient educational tools. They also allow students to study at their own pace, at a time convenient for them. Today, students can do online lessons from their mobile phone or tablet, as well as take intermediate tests, track educational progress, and receive notifications with reminders and tips.
Maxim Puchkov is convinced that digital technologies affect the efficiency of learning and mastering professional skills. AI can build training programs tailored to individual user needs, which is undoubtedly a competitive advantage, adds Maxim Puchkov. Thanks to the internet, people can study new subjects, develop competencies, and learn from the best specialists in various fields, regardless of their place of residence.
According to a study conducted by analysts of the American business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, at the beginning of 2022, more than 30 million people needed upskilling and professional retraining. According to Puchkov Maxim, it is difficult and unlikely to completely meet this need, thus a number of experts expect further growth in continuing digital education.
Moreover, modern technologies contribute to the development of inclusive education. IT solutions help people with disabilities access quality teaching methods. Examples include apps with a read-aloud function or special programs that provide data through voice accompaniment or large fonts.
Maxim Puchkov confirms that in recent years EdTech has become one of the most promising areas for financial investments. If previously investors allocated no more than a third of their portfolio to educational startups, today they are confident that digital technologies can overcome barriers and problems associated with traditional models of education and will bring significant profit.
Thus, business angels allocate huge sums to support technological teams. According to Maxim Puchkov, they are convinced that innovations in education can have a long-term impact on modern society, as well as improve the quality of educational services and will contribute to the development of talent and professionalism in various fields.
